For Friday I'd like you to have a look 18 year old Brooke's diary on page 43 of the Textbook [click on the picture above] and do the exercise in Section C at the bottom of the page. Once you have done that, I'd like you to get together with your Language Partner and discuss the following questions:
(i) Are you interested in trends or not? Why or why not?
(ii) It is said that “companies start trends because they want to earn a lot of money”. Do you think this is true? Who starts trends?
(iii) Who are the trendsetters in Korea? How have they become so?
(iv) Why do some trends stay popular for a long time, and other quickly fade? Can you think of any examples?
As usual, people will be randomly chosen to tell us what they and their partner discussed, so, DO IT!!! (please...)
