Assessment Task 3:Persuasive Speech

*
Assessment Task 3 will involve you giving a persuasive speech to the people in the class. The choice of speech topic will be up to you. You may, for example, choose to attempt to:
• change their minds about a particular topic
• change their behavior or
• change their feelings

You will be given four minutes in which to speak and, as in the 2nd assessment task, will be given a warning at 3 ½ minutes [yellow card] and a 10 second reminder [red card] when your time is up. Presentations will again be filmed.

Assessment Task 2:An Informative Speech

*
As noted at the beginning of semester, the second assessment task will involve you giving an “informative speech” on a topic of your own choice. These will take place in Week 9. You will be given three minutes for this speech and once the three minutes up will be given 10 seconds to finish up. In addition to giving speeches, you will also have to at some stage during the week:

1. Ask at least one question

2. Act as a time keeper, host, time-enforcer and/or adjudicator

Presentations will all be [hopefully] filmed.

Students will be made aware of the situation with respect to time with:

1. a yellow card being shown to indicate that they have 30 left, and

2. A red card being shown to indicate that their time is up.

A bell will be rung and a student will drag them from the podeum when their time is absolutely up.

If you have any questions please phone or email me. Assessment criteria will be posted later this week.
