CD of the Week: Joni Mitchell: Shine
Writing in the All Music Guide, Jason Ankeny has written that:
When the dust settles, Joni Mitchell may stand as the most important and influential female recording artist of the late 20th century. Uncompromising and iconoclastic, Mitchell confounded expectations at every turn; restlessly innovative, her music evolved from deeply personal folk stylings into pop, jazz, avant-garde, and even world music, presaging the multicultural experimentation of the 1980s and 1990s by over a decade.
This weeks CD, Shine, is the first new material from Joni Mitchell in eight years. Released on the 25th of September, it is an absolutelt wonderful piece ow work and one that is essential for all of you who are interested in the history of folk, jazz, pop or rock music.

Song of the Week: Changes: David Bowie
This weeks 'Song of the Week' is "Changes" - a song by David Bowie. Originally released on the album Hunky Dory in December 1971 and as a single in January 1972, became one of Bowie's best-known songs even though it missed getting into the top 40.
David Bowie, by the way, is an English singer, songwriter, actor, multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger and audio engineer. Active in five decades of rock music, and frequently re-inventing his music and image, Bowie is widely regarded as an influential innovator, particularly for his work through the 1970s when he was most closely associated with the birth of what became known as 'glam rock'
